Ibori’s daughter dedicates victory to three fathers

Daughter of Delta State’s former Governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, has dedicated her victory at last Saturday’s poll to those she described as her “three fathers.

They are her biological father, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, her uncle and mentor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan (present Governor of Delta State) and her political fathers, boss and leader, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta state PDP gubernatorial candidate in last Saturday polls)

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Miss Erhiatake Ibori, won the Delta State House of Assembly poll for Ethiope West constituency, polling 32,700 votes to her closest rival, All Progressives Congress’ Edirin Ajueshi Ejideran’s 1,709.

Collecting her Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ibori thanked God who made her victory possible. She also thanked her supporters for keeping faith with her and assured the voters that “this victory belongs to them”.

She promised to give the best possible representation to the entire people of Ethiope-West Local Government Area (LGA). She said she was overwhelmed by the massive support the people have shown her.

To the Ethiope-West people she said, “you embraced my fight as yours and so while your representative at the Delta State House of Assembly, I will make your cause totally mine.”

Dedicating her victory to her father, Okowa and Uduaghan, she said: “The tremendous goodwill daddy has among the entire people of Delta state was a wind beneath my wings. When added to the support of my other two fathers, Senator Okowa and His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, my victory was made easier for I was fortunate to have been nurtured by three political grand-masters. Together, they showed my little feet the way to follow - onto electoral victory. I am proud of all of you.”

Ibori, also heaped praises on members of her campaign team. She said most them went beyond the call of duty to ensure that victory came her way.

She said: “To take Ethiope-West to a higher level of development is my vision and my cause.”
