Kebbi APC alleges N600m bribe to INEC officials

All Progressives Congress (APC) Kebbi State Chapter yesterday called on the National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, to investigate the State INEC’s alleged involvement in a N600 million bribe to rig tomorrow’s governorship and State House of Assembly elections in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Addressing a press conference at the campaign office of the governorship candidate in Birnin Kebbi, the party’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Alhaji Sani Dododo, alleged that PDP has concluded the arrangements to collaborate with the INEC to alleged rig the election by using the PVCs bought from the electorate during the Presidential election to vote for the remaining election.

He express dismay with the INEC over the arrangement made, stressing that they have the video clips to prove where they made the arrangement.

The spoke man of the party further pointed out that “PDP have deposited over 600 million naira in Zentih Bank to be shared to some thugs that would be used during the election and also be given to the INEC officers.

“The affected area to be used for the irregularities are Zuru, Shanga and Bagudu local governments areas of the state,” he added.

Dododo said that the arrangement was alleged made with the Director operation and Murtala Marshell, and E.O in charge of Birnin Kebbi local government INEC and some presiding officer in state INEC.

“We have alerted all the security agencies in the state and I want people of Kebbi State to be aware because we are not going to accept this,” he explained.

The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner of the State, Jibril Ibrahim Zarewa and Secretary Publicity and Media Committee of PDP governorship campaign organisation Mallam Haruna Saidu both denied all the allegations levelled against INEC and PDP respectively.
