Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, has turned down an invitation to come for a meeting at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja, ahead of the collation of the results of last weekend’s presidential ballot.
There is a serious tension here. Jega has refused to go to Villa for a meeting,” a source close to the seat of power told News Express.
The source did not disclose whom Jega was to meet with at the Villa but indicated that the meeting had to do with the announcement of the election result.
Jega has meanwhile commenced collation of the election results from the states at the National Collation Centre, the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
