All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, has swept the presidential election in Osun State, beating incumbent President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the official announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Of the 22 councils declared last night, Buhari lost just one of councils: Ife East. He won 241,179 votes as against 168,476 votes by Jonathan.
Results are still being awaited in eight local councils. There are 30 local councils in the state, along with Modakeke Area Office.
Jonathan had earlier swept neighbouring Ekiti, meaning that the two main candidates now have won a state each. The winner of the election held across the country on Saturday is expected to be announced this evening by INEC in Abuja.
