Political thugs said to be acting on behalf of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have gone on rampage in Edo and Delta states, injuring people and damaging property during today's presidential and National Assembly elections.
In Edo North Senatorial District, thugs reportedly hired by the APC local chairman Magaji Usman attacked DAAR Communications Plc founder, High Chief Raymond Alegho Dokpesi, who managed to escape death but had vehicles in his convoy damaged.
In neighbouring Delta State, four APC thugs invaded a polling unit in Okpe-Isoko in Isoko North LG, snatched one ballot box and stabbed two officials of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Also, at about 1:45 p.m., four thugs suspected to be supporters of APC armed with dangerous weapons were said to have stormed Unit Two of Ward 8 and caused uproar as they attempted to snatch ballot boxes and other election materials.
Our Special Correspondent reports that in the process of stopping them two people were stabbed. “One of the victims, Mr. Oke-Oghene Owah, was stabbed on his right ribs and right arm. The thugs made away with one ballot box and materials,” he said.
