Enugu voters demand poll cancellation •Card reader fails Ekweremadu, wife

A cross section of prospective voters in Enugu State, South-East Nigeria, have demanded the cancellation of today’s presidential and National Assembly elections in the state following monumental hitches that made many people unable to vote, RayPower FM has reported.

The radio station identified card reader failure and slowness as some of the major problems. It named Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and his wife among those not recognised by the card reader.

RayPower interviewed several angry registered voters, who lamented that they had spent almost the entire day in a vain bid to get accredited to vote. They demanded the cancellation of the election and the setting aside of a day on which to repeat the exercise.
