Borno indigenes in FCT visit Clark, vow to vote for Jonathan

Borno State indigenes resident in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) led by the former Minister of FCT, Engr. Muhammed Abba-Gana, has paid a courtesy visit to Chief Edwin Clark, assuring him of their full support and vote for President Goodluck Jonathan so that he gets a convincing victory at the March 28, presidential election.

They based their support to President Goodluck Jonathan on two reasons: All Nigerian are now aware that President Jonathan has really and actually performed very well in the crucial sectors of social and economic development covering all the six-geo political zones; The second reason was for the sake of peace, national unity, political stability and justice and fairness in respect of political choice in Nigeria.

“We the people of Borno State do appreciate and applaud the great efforts President Jonathan is now making in bringing the Boko Haram insurgency to a quick end. It is also on record that President Jonathan got world acclaim and appreciation for his containment and eradication of the deadly Ebola virus in Nigeria,” said Mallam Bukar, the Mai Kanuribe of Borno indigenes living in the FCT.

In his response, Chief Clark thanked the association for their continued support to President Goodluck Jonathan.

“I have been working with your leader, Abba-Gana for the past the three years and he has never disappointed me,” said Chief Clark.

He also said that as a delegate to the 2014 National Conference, he agitated that a five percent of the Federal Government revenue should be allocated to the North-East due the effect of the Boko Haram insurgency but unfortunately, some leaders from the North-West kicked against the idea because they wanted the entire North to partake in the five pecent revenue distribution.

“Former Adamawa Governor, Murtala Nyako accused President Jonathan of carrying out genocide when the President was curtailing the unnecessary killings carried out by the Boko Haram. Gen. Buhari also joined in condemning the President, saying the President is killing Northerners. Today, the same Gen. Buhari said if he is elected, insurgency will stop. This is because Buhari knows them and using them to intimidate and harass the President Jonathan’s administration,” said Chief Clark.
