Youths from Isialangwa North of Abia State have vowed to deal with the TC Chairman of the local government area, Chief Ginger Onwusibe for allegedly leading Thursday’s attack against the campaign team of the governorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr. Alex Otti, during his Town Hall Meeting in the community.
Eye witness account alleged that Onwusibe led at least 30 armed thugs to waylay Otti at Ntigha junction on the Enugu – Port Harcourt Express en route Mbawsi, venue of the first meeting.
Onwusibe and his thugs were further alleged to have repeatedly shot randomly into the air, causing panic and stampede on the expressway.
Although the meeting later held, the youths insisted they would deal ruthlessly with Onwusibe for dragging the name of the area in the mud.
According to Sunday Nwama, a youth leader, “Onwusibe wants to create the impression that our people are not supporting Otti, who is going to be the next governor of the state.
“What has Ginger done for our area? Governor T.A Orji has not commissioned any project in our area since he became governor about eight years ago. He and his anointed candidate Okezie Ikpeazu will not get one vote from Isialangwa North. Enough is enough.”
