The Miyyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) on Sunday disassociated itself from what it called “a purported endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan.”
The National Youth Leader of the association, Adamu Isa Mohammed was reacting over the recent endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan Miyyetti Allah Kautal Hore led by Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Badejo.
According to the press release issued after an emergency meeting of the MACBAN in Kaduna at the weekend, “We members MACBAN resolved to put it on record that an announcement made by a certain group who go about with the name of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore endorsing president Jonathan for the 2015 presidential election, that they were different from our organisation, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN).
“The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore led by one Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Bodejo is a cultural organization which existed in only one state of the Federation and therefore cannot speak on our behalf on any national issues because they are not representing all Fulani’s in the country.
“Therefore, we want to disassociate the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria from the statement credited to the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore that they have not endorsed certain political candidates in the forthcoming elections.
“MACBAN is not part of the endorsement since we are not a political association, but an organised group whose aim and objectives was to protect the interest of Fulani's all over the country and beyond.
“We want to put it on record that, the MACBAN is an association that has leadership who are highly respected such as the His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alh. (Dr) Sa’ad Abubakar III who is the Grand Patron, Emir of Kano, Emir of Zazzau, Lamido of Adamawa and Emir of Katsina as Board of Trustees.”
He advised all its members to come out and vote wisely on the day of the elections and be law abiding.
