Ibadan group mobilises support for Alao-Akala

A group in Orogun Community, Ibadan, Oyo State, Movement for Good Governance Ibadan (MGGI), has thrown its weight behind the flag bearer of Labour Party (LP) and former governor of the state, Dr Alao Akala based on his past achievements of in the state.

The President of the group, Mr Ajibola Ayetan, while addressing members of the group during a meeting held recently in the community, emphasised on the major aim of the group.

“This is a group we have formed to better the course of our community and we residents. Based on this reason, we have agreed to always come together once in a week to express our needs and make sure they are being met. And, of course, we know who is capable of doing this for us,” he said.

Mr Ajibola, also noted that it is the notion of every Nigerian that politicians are not trustworthy and faithful, “but few of them are still faithful to their promises to better the lives of the citizens, and one of those is Alao-Akala.”

He stressed further that Alao-Akala has indicated his interest in assisting the youths of the state, if elected.

“Alao-Akala paid the gratuities of the Oyo State retired primary school teachers up in two months, after some years of neglect during his administration. We know he is going to do more. We can support him,” he added.

Ayetan enjoined members, who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter's Card (PVC) to do so and cast their votes for Alao-Akala in the time of election.
