Gunmen kill 4 in Bauchi

Unknown gunmen today killed four persons in Tafawa Balewa town of Bauchi State but the victims were not youth corpers and the attack didn’t take place in a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp.

There had been panic across the country following reports of a purported bomb blast in the Bauchi NYSC Orientation Camp. It turned out that the reports are false.

The killing of the four persons in Tafawa Balewa was confirmed by the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Ladan. He told newsmen that the deceased were attacked while working in their farm. A fifth person was injured in the attack, Ladan said. He disclosed that security agents are now patrolling the town and that normalcy has been restored.

“I received information this morning that some gunmen have shot and killed four persons in Tafawa Balewa,” the police chief said. “Our men are on ground. We are yet to arrest anybody over the incident.”
