Ex-Ohanaeze Scribe Uche Okwukwu
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has called out the sacked Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Bar Uche Okwukwu, for allegedly making himself a willing tool in the hands of enemies to sabotage Igbo interest.
The group wondered why someone who once prided himself as a MASSOB member and the Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo would suddenly “make himself a slave to his Fulani masters to sabotage his own tribe for a piece of bread.”
A statement signed by IPOB coordinator in Rivers State, David Njoku, and made available to journalists on Wednesday by the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, accused Okwukwu of issuingstatements against Biafra and Igbo interests in his quest to please his pay masters in Aso Rock.
IPOB warned him to desist from making derogatory remarks against Biafra, saying that if he can get away with insulting Ohanaeze Ndigbo, he cannot do so with IPOB.
The statement reads in part: “We want to place it on record that Uche Okwukwu has officially been sacked by the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and should stop talking about anything concerning Ohaneze Ndigbo and IPOB.
“Ever since his sack as Ohanaeze Scribe for cutting a deal with APC to support President Buhari during the last presidential elections, Bar. Okwukwu has continued to conspire with the Fulani caliphate to sabotage Igbo interest, a move that was the reason for his rejection by Ohanaeze and subsequent humiliation out of office.
“We know his antecedents as a saboteur which also led to his sack from MASSOB in 2001. Instead of this traitor to hide his face in shame for being a Federal Government of Nigeria witness and against his fellow MASSOB members in Federal High Court Abuja years ago, Uche Okwukwu has been shamelessly dishing out press statements against Biafra and Igbo interests in his quest to please his pay masters in Aso Rock.”
While calling on the former Ohanaeze Secretary to retrace his steps, IPOB enjoined him to disembark from such fruitless journey, saying that “IPOB is unstoppable in its divine march towards Biafra restoration.”
