Senator Rashidi Ladoja, former governor of Oyo State and governorship candidate of Accord Party, has appealed to Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) in the secondary schools in the state to stop their strike which commenced today.

A statement signed for Ladoja’s Campaign Organisation (LCO) by Hon. Adeolu Adeleke and made available to newsmen in Ibadan, said the strike would further cripple the education sector in the state.

Ladoja urging the NASU members to endure till May 29 when he hopes to take over as governor. He promised that he would not only ensure prompt payment of their peculiarity allowances and leave bonuses, but would also regularly pay them when he is inaugurated as the next governor, adding that the monthly salaries of all the workers would be paid on the 25th of every month.

Said Ladoja: “I know this assurance would not be new to workers, as I had faithfully implemented it during my first coming as a governor. What I am fighting for is, workers need not go on strike before government would pay them their salaries and allowances.

“Ladoja is coming in as governor of Oyo State to right wrongs and put things in order. I am coming with a compassionate government that will balm the wound of the artisans, the civil servants, the masses, as well as the generality of the people of the state.”
