The result of the suspected coronavirus patient in Enugu State has returned negative.
News Express reports that a female patient who returned from the United Kingdom was isolated after she presented with suspected symptoms.
Her samples were then collected and sent to Edo State for test while she was kept in the isolation centre at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology Teaching Hospital (ESUTH), Parklane, and receiving the best available medical treatment.
However, in a statement this morning Dr. Ifeanyi Agujiobi, Permanent Secretary, Enugu State Ministry of Health, said the woman tested negative.
“The Enugu State Ministry of Health hereby informs the general public that we have received the result of the investigation sent to IRUA Specialist Hospital which is further corroborated by Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as Negative.
“We hereby enjoin the general public to go about their normal business however to remain alert and vigilant observing basic personal health hygiene,” he said.
