Abductors have murdered an eight-year-old boy, Usman Sunusi Maikano of Fakon Idi area in Sokoto North Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

Usman, who was kidnapped and held hostage for some days, was eventually killed at Fakon Idi area.

The kidnappers demanded 700,000 ransom for the release of the boy but his parents were unable to meet up the deadline.

The kidnappers reportedly murdered Usman after the deadline for the ransom.

The mutilated body of Usman was later discovered.

But Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has charged security agencies in the state to intensify efforts to fish out the perpetrators.

Tambuwal gave the directives while condoling with the family of Alhaji Sanusi Maikano, whose son was kidnapped and killed.

The governor prayed God to grant the deceased Al-janat Firdausi and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.(New Telegraph)
