The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Lagos and Ogun states Command Headquarters, AIG Ahmed Illiyasu, has commended Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin for her consistent drive to effect positive change in Nigeria.

He made the commendation during a working visit to the national secretariat of Centre for Change, Lagos, on Tuesday.

Receiving the senior police officer, Dr Okei-Odumakin, who is the President of the Centre, expressed her delight to have a super cop whose vision and drive is in tandem with that of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Muhammed Adamu on community policing while collaborating with non-governmental organisations and community based organisations.

In his remarks, the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Illiyasu noted that his office remains open to co-travelers of sound moral value system in the pathway of birthing and entrenching a plural society where respect for human rights and rule of law reign supreme.

While commending the intellectual sagacity and unassailable reputation of his host, he noted that the spirited efforts and commitment of Dr Okei-Odumakin as replicated by various organisations under her supervision is contagious and worthy of emulation by well-meaning women in the society, who knows what they want and how best to get it without compromising their integrity and conscience.

He further assured Nigerians of collaborations from time to time in raising the standards of policing with global best practices.
