Kano State commissioner of Works and Infrastructural Development, Engr. Mu’azu Magaji, has said that the construction of two major hydro power plants embarked upon by the present administration in the state will soon be completed and commissioned in order to ease the power problem facing the moribund industries in the state.

Magaji made the disclosure yesterday in his office while enumerating the success recorded by his ministry since he took over the mantle of leadership on 6 November 2019.

According to him, the twin projects which were designed to run concurrently could have since seen the light of the day if not for the administrative delay and change in the scope of execution.

“We are at the verge of completing the phase one of the hydro power which is in Tigain October 2020, while that of Challawa gauge will be in August 2021 once completed it will be the first hydro power of its kind across the all the 36 States of Federation. (Leadership)
