Governor Umahi

A Catholic cleric, Rev. Fr. Martin Tobi, has showered blessings on Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, even as he prayed for the grace and mercy of God upon the governor.
The cleric, made the remark on Saturday during a holy matrimony between former Miss Ijeoma Umahi and Benjamin Azuka at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Uburu Community in Ohaozara Local Government area of the state.
Speaking further, the priest recalled instances where Governor Umahi has intervened whenever his gestures are elicited across several churches, destitute homes, Hospitals, Institutions.
According to him, other guests from Ikom, Cross River State said they are always glued to their television and social media interface where Governor Umahi builds churches and ecumenical centre for worship.
“Honestly, what Rev Fr Tobi said is truth. I am surprised, your governor is just a good man. Sometime I will be wondering if other governors see what he is doing in your state (Ebonyi),” he said.
Meanwhile, the cleric during his homily, urged the newly wedded couple to complement each other in marriage, saying marriage institution is a sacred one that should not be defied.
While admitting no marriage is without challenges,said only tolerance and mutual understanding heal ailing homes.
Responding, Governor Umahi renewed his commitment to empower the widows and destitute in other to enhance their livelihoods.
He explained that he will always prioritise the welfare of those at the lowest ebb of life, While commending the newlyweds for their determination to get married and called on them to live in peace and harmony.
He made an undisclosed donation to the church for the assistance of widows and the destitute in the church as well complete the building of the church.
The event witnessed a large turnout of political top brass, including General Abel Obi Umahi (rtd), Chief Austin Umahi, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, EXCO members, House of Assembly members and other top Government functionaries.
