Acting Head of Service, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan
The Federal Government has ordered the redeployment of 101 top civil servants across ministries, departments and agencies.
Those affected in the mass redeployment, which was announced through a circular on Friday, are directors, deputy directors and assistant directors.
Many of those redeployed were moved to fill vacancies created in their new stations either because of promotion or retirement of former holders of the positions. Some others were redeployed on request, to understudy some officials or to serve as deputies to some officers.
A circular conveying the redeployment was obtained on Sunday.
The circular dated February 21, 2020 was marked HCSF/CMO/002/S.I/III/94.
The circular was signed by the Director Overseeing Office of the Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office, I.A Mariga, on behalf of the acting Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan.
The director warned that any disregard for the directive would attract appropriate sanctions.
The circular read, “I am directed to convey the approval of the acting Head of the Civil Service of the Federation for the deployment of 101 directorate level officers at Salary Grade Levels 15 to 17 under the pool of the OHCSF.
“The posting instruction can be downloaded from the office’s website. Hardcopies submitted by officers for documentation should be verified with the one on the website.
“Any disregard of this deployment shall be treated in accordance with the provisions of PSR 030301(b).”
The affected officials belong to two categories of professional and administration.
In the administration category, 21 directors (SGL 17); 42 deputy directors (SGL 16); and 29 assistant directors (SGL 15) were affected.
The professional category has five deputy directors and four assistant directors. No director was involved in that category.
Copies of the circular announcing the redeployment were addressed to the Chief of Staff to the President, the Deputy Chief of Staff to President, ministers, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, permanent secretaries, and service chiefs/Inspector-General of Police among others.
Recall that the government had last week ordered the redeployment of 41 senior civil servants under the pool of the OHCSF.
Although, a circular conveying the redeployment indicated that those affected were “regularised officers” at SGL 08 to 13, one official at SGL 07 was also affected. (The Punch)
