There was pandemonium in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital as operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS allegedly shot two Hausa traders in the popular Olomore Market in the state capital.

Several vehicles and other properties were destroyed as angry youths chased the officers out of the market while they shot sporadically to clear their ways off the market.

he youths immediately started a violent protest, barricading the dual carriage road thereby preventing vehicle movement along the Abeokuta/Lagos road for close to two hours.

Although it was romoured that the offices chased internet fraudsters popularly called ‘yahoo boys’ into the market, but eyewitnesses dispelled the rumour saying nobody was chased into the market.

As at the time of filing this report angry youths have proceeded on road protest singing anti-SARS songs while the deployment of police officers led by the two Deputy Commissioners of Police in the State could not stop them.
