Nigerian Business Leader and Philanthropist, Tony O. Elumelu, CON, will be a leading voice highlighting the African private sector agenda at the upcoming World Economic Forum (WEF). Mr. Elumelu has been invited to speak on several high-level panels and will host key events during the annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, themed ‘The New Global Context’.
Holding January 21- 24, WEF 2015 will gather more than 2,500 participants from 140 countries, hundreds of journalists, an estimated 40 heads of state, and other politicians. An estimated 1,500 business leaders from the world’s top global companies will also be in attendance.
A schedule of in the possession of News Express shows that Elumelu will be busy almost every day of WEF 2015, either serving as a panelist during discussions or hosting events.
On January 21, Elumelu will feature on the panel to discuss ‘Confronting the Challenge of Catastrophic Outbreak: What critical lessons can be learned from the 2014 Ebola outbreak to prepare us for the future?’ He will also be on the panel to discuss ‘Closing the Energy Gap in Africa Panel: Exploration of how innovative financing mechanisms combined with regulatory and policy interventions can provide sustainable energy in Africa’.
On January 23 Elumelu and Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote will thereafter host a discussion on ‘Unlocking Global Institutional Capital for Africa’. Elumelu will then host the ‘Heirs Holdings Celebrate Africa Cocktail Party’, an invitation-only networking cocktail reception that will feature a special performance by African Mega star D’Banj and live music from all over the continent.
On January 23, Elumelu, the creator of Africapitalism, an economic philosophy that calls for long-term investments in key sectors in Africa, to spark economic prosperity and social wealth, will complete his WEF 2015 assignment by serving as a panelist during the Africa Energy Leaders Group Press Conference.
