Comrade Franklyne Maduabuchi Edede
The Executive Director, Annual African Youth Economic And Business Summit Group and Ethnic Youth Leaders for Peace in Nigeria, Comrade Franklyne Maduabuchi Edede, has condemned a recent utterance and outburst credited to the immediate past Deputy Governor of Imo State, Gerald Ironna, who allegedly threatened to unleash terror on the state if the Supreme Court did not reverse its earlier judgment on the Imo Governorship Petition that ousted his boss, Emeka Ihedioha.
Edede, who is vocal in defense of the oppressed, particularly the youth, wondered why “such public outburst could emanate from someone who claims to have the welfare and peace of Imo people at heart if not to exhibit his unending quest and desperation for unmerited and undeserving Imo peoples mandate to oversee their economic and sociopolitical affairs.”
The activist and journalist who is also the Grand Commander Order of Nigerian/African Youth, while addressing newsmen in Owerri on Monday, admonished the former Deputy Governor to be mindful of his unguarded public utterances, threat to the peace and security of Imo and her peace-loving citizens.
He noted that “Emeka Ihedioha, Gerald Ironna, Chinemerem Madu and other desperate members of their group should realise that the goodness, mercy and grace of God Almighty have obviously departed from them and as such should refrain from any utterance(s) or action(s) capable of distracting the divine people-oriented governance and leadership of Senator Hope Uzodinma in his determination to restore the lost glory of our dear state.”
While vowing to mobilise Imo youths for the success of Governor Uzodinma’s administration, he reminded Ironna and his group that it is only God that gives power to whoever He so wishes and that it does not matter who, hence God is all-knowing.
He affirmed that the January 2020 verdict of the highest Court in Nigeria against Ihedioha never came as a surprise to most people going by the fact that the immediate past governor had assumed the status of God by his usual display of unforgiveness, arrogance, pride and unwarranted witch-hunt of fellow party stalwarts and the slogan of “who say man no dey”, instead of “who say God no dey”?
He advised former Governor Ihedioha to accept his plight and predicament, take his fate in good faith, forget the Imo governorship seatfor now, till 2028, if he will still be in form then, to aspire because according to the well-known Ezinihitte Mbaise-born rights activist, Hon Emeka Ihedioha has just bought what he knows how to sell to people.
“He knows how to betray and frustrate people’s ambition, especially those he sees as shining stars, but God has shown him that no man is and can ever be God.”
The astute youth mobiliser wondered why Hon. Ihedioha is now crying wolf, seeking justice and equity when his conscience does not apply same,” adding: “The law of karma and retributive justice has just caught up with Ihedioha and his co-travellers.
“A situation where they unjustly took Ezinihitte-East House of Representatives slot to the same Ezinihitte-West that had it for eight years under Hon Independence Ogunewe of blessed memory, for gratification and never minded the grief of the people from that Area, leaves Ihedioha with no morals or good conscience to initiate struggle for equity in Imo, hence he who must achieve equity must not go with soiled hands like those of Ihedioha, Ironna, Chinenerem Madu and the rest of them.
“Ironna on his ignorant part should understand that he’s not more Imo than any Imolites and should not allow us to confront him if he or any of them continue in this barbaric manner.
“Their time has come and gone as Governor and Deputy Governor and should not deprive Imo people the peace and tranquility they desire and reserve,” Edede declared.
On the Supreme Court Review Appeal, Edede ruled out any possibility of reversal, because according to him, God does not reverse Himself as God’s word can never go out void.”
