An FRSC official who was on patrol was reportedly killed along Azare Potiskum road in Bauchi by a motorist who ignored being flagged down to stop.
Confirming the incident, Rilwanu Suleiman, the spokesman of the FRSC in Bauchi said that “the motorist was flagged down to stop, but he ignored the personnel on the road and veered off until he hit the deceased with his vehicle”.
Rilwanu who said that he was not going into details since the command is still investigating the incident also confirmed the death of four persons along Bayara, Dass road in the state.
“Yes, the accident occurred around Bayara Dass road. It involved a Toyota bus conveying passenger. “The crash was as a result of a tyre that burst on the expressway”.
“Four persons died in the Toyota Sienna with registration ABC-983AH. We could not ascertain the name of the driver and the passengers. It happened at about 2:40pm on Saturday. Our operatives took the victims to ATBUTH where they were confirmed dead”.
Some of the victims died at the spot while the rest were taken to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, ATBUTH. (Leadership)
