Fire on Saturday night engulfed parts of the runway of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria is yet to ascertain the cause of the fire but said it was a bush fire.
The General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, Mrs Henrietta Yakubu, however stated that there were no flight disruptions.
She said the bush fire incident wasreported around runway 36 L of the airport.
“Officers of the Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Services are presently on ground and fire-fighting is in progress. However, the incident did not affect flights as normal flight operations continue unhindered,” Yakubu said. (Sunday PUNCH)
