The Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gave the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) a new year gift it never bargained for.

In its new year message, the opposition party accused the APGA-led government of Governor Willie Obiano of misappropriation of state resources.

The party insisted that the APGA leadership style has plunged the state into difficult times saying that only PDP can salvage state.

The new year message which was signed by the state party chairman party, Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, called on Anambra people to join forces with the PDP to relinquish power to the PDP come 2021.

The statement reads in part: “While I thank our good Lord for ushering us into the year 2020, there is no doubt that our state is passing through very trying times, but that notwithstanding, I urge you to be optimistic and to partner with me and our great party towards making Anambra great again.

“Perilous times may however not last long because the PDP is poised to restore the lost glory of the state when the APGA government eventually relinquishes power to the PDP come 2021.

“May Almighty God, the Giver of all good things bless you, your family, our dear state and the nation in general.”
