An indigene of Amassoma, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, Doumene Ambaiowei, has named his newborn after the state’s Governor-elect, Chief David Lyon.
He said his wife was delivered of the baby on November 16, the same day the governorship election that produced Lyon was conducted by the Independent National Election Commission (INEC).
The man, who described himself as a strong member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bietebi-Ama, Amassoma ward nine, unit 22, said he would like his son to grow and become like Lyon.
He said the story of Lyon was a testament that people from humble backgrounds were capable of rising to prominence
He said: “On the election day, 16th November 2019. my wife put to bed a bouncing baby boy, therefore I named the child after the governor-elect David Lyon D. Ambaiowei.
“I am a strong member of APC in Bietebi – Ama Amassoma ward 9 unit 22. I am very happy with the APC family”. (The Nation)
