Rep-elect Comrade Chinedu Ogah
Former Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) South, Chief Jerry Obasi, on Wednesday urged the member-elect for Ezza South Ikwo Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State, Comrade Chinedu Ogah, to be humble and magnanimous in victory.
He also urged him to embrace his opponent, Hon. Lazarus Ogbe, who was declared winner of the February 23rd election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) but was sacked by National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal and Court of Appeal.
Obasi, who spoke to journalists in Abakaliki, said Ogah’s victory at the tribunal and Appeal Court shows that his constituents actually voted for him and that the judiciary was the hope of the common man and enjoined him to carry everybody along.
He declared that Ogah’s victory has opened a new window for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state and a boost to the party in 2023.
“I hail the judiciary for the judgment and it has shown that the judiciary is actually the last hope of the common man.
“I urge Chinedu Ogah to be humble in victory, to be magnanimous in victory and embrace his opponent Chief Lazarus Ogbe.
“The judgment of the Appeal court and tribunal show that the people of Ezza south/Ikwo Federal Constituency actually voted for Chinedu Ogah.
“I enjoin APC in the state to rally round him because as it stands now, he is the pillar of the APC in the state because he is the only lead voice now in the National Assembly in the state for the APC,” he said.
