Scene of a fuel tanker accident
A tanker loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) has fallen into a ditch along Onitsha/Enugu expressway by Chipex Filling Station.
The PMS was spilling out as at the time of filing this report at 2pm on Thursday, October 31, 2019.
This is the third of such incident in Onitsha in the past three weeks – one of them having resulted in a massive fire that wreaked much havoc, including claiming human lives.
A statement by Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Anambra State Command, SP Haruna Mohammed, said that Police patrol teams have cordoned off the area while the Fire Service was promptly contacted to be on standby in order to prevent any fire incident.
