The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused some Igbo stakeholders and Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, particularly, of conniving with the Police and Nigerian Army to continuously attack IPOB families in Ebonyi State.

The group said that their expectations from Umahi and others is for them to come out in the open and condemn what it described as Fulani impunity in Igbo land and avoid conniving with the same Fulani killers at night.

In a statement made available to journalists in Awka by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, IPOB maintained that security personnel are using police and army uniform to continue the federal government policy of reducing the population of Biafrans through targeted mass executions.

The statement partly read: “We peaceful IPOB (have) continued to be subjected to the most unwarranted and unprovoked attacks at the hands of Fulani terror groups aided by Dave Umahi and his fellow Fulani lapdogs in our land. Those who are in the habit of telling us about the need to work with South-East governors can now see very clearly they are stooges prepared to keep sacrificing the lives of their people in a determined effort to please their masters in caliphate northern Nigeria. Our people can now understand why we don’t want to see any of these heartless evil men on foreign soil.

“A combined team of Nigeria Armed Forces invaded the venue of a peaceful IPOB gathering in Ebonyi LGA at 5pm on Sunday 27 October 2019 with more than 50 Hilux vans during an inauguration ceremony and opened fire on defenceless mothers and fathers without warning.

“Such mindless and animalistic brutality cannot happen and has never happened in the north where the top four most deadly terror groups are operating freely without restriction.

“Northern Fulani governors are busy negotiating with Fulani killers, rapists and ‘genocidists’ but South-East governors led by Dave Umahi are busy plotting the public execution of his own people.

“The security operatives, who are mainly northerners and led by Fulani officers, opened fire on everybody at the venue of the meeting which resulted in many casualties.”

IPOB said that while 17 people sustained severe gunshot wounds, over 70 people were abducted and taken to unknown location.

It warned that the continued invasion and intimidation of Biafraland must stop saying that all those responsible for the attack will pay dearly for it, including their children

The statement added, “If the same murderous zeal exhibited by Nigerian army and police in Ebonyi can be exhibited in the fight against terrorism, banditry and lawlessness in Arewa north peace and tranquility will reign.

“It is unfortunate that Governor Dave Umahi and his collaborators continue to allow themselves to be used by Fulani caliphate to kill Biafrans. No northern governor would be as slavishly naive as Dave Umahi in actively supporting the wholesale massacre of innocent people.

“The continued killing of innocent civilians in Ebonyi State by Fulani terror herdsmen on one hand and Fulani Nigerian army on the other is troubling. Therefore it must be considered a perfected plan by Dave Umahi and co to oppress, eliminate and prepare Ebonyi for eventual Islamic conquest all in the name of the promise of Igbo presidency.”
