Tanker drivers operating at Lilypond Apapa, Lagos, are said to be on rampage.
Their grievances were yet to be clear as at the time of filing this report but the situation was said to be so serious that the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2, Muazu Zubairu, directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DC Mohammed, to move to the scene immediately and restore normalcy.
A report by the online edition of Daily Independent that the AIG’s intervention became necessary when the Presidential Task Force on clearing Apapa Wharf led by CP Odumosun could not curtail the crisis.
