The Managing Director of the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), Engr. Anthony Owuoma Okwuosha, has revealed that one of the last things the Commission will not try with the ongoing empowerment programmes is to use it as reward system for party faithful.
This is equally as he noted, however, that the ruling party in the state (PDP) will handsomely reward all of its loyal members.
Engr. Okwuosha stressed this on Friday at Mgbirichi in Ohaji/Egbema when he visited the area to further sensitise the people on the cassava buy-out pilot scheme of the Commission which shall commence next month.
He said: “During elections, we queued behind our party. But after election, the winner begins to govern both those who voted for him, and those who did not. A leader does not only govern his household, but everybody.”
He then pointed out: “Our programmes in ISOPADEC are not for PDP faithful only. We have an express instruction from Governor Ihedioha and his Deputy Rt. Hon. Irona to work for our people. We don’t want to act like the former government that used ISOPADEC to divide and polarise our people instead of developing us. This ISOPADEC is for all of us irrespective of party affiliations. Our empowerment programmes are for everyone, as long as you are from the oil producing region. So anytime we at ISOPADEC delegate you as community leaders to reach your people in our behalf, please don’t come with only PDP people.”
Okwuosha assured PDP members that party leaders in the state are not unrighteous so as to forget their hard work and loyalty.
“As a party, we know how, when and the means to tell you well-done for your continuous loyalty. It is our unbeatable trademark,” he said.
Other areas the ISOPADEC Managing Director visited during the sensitisation tour were Umuagwo, Umukene and Etioha, all in Ohaji of Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo State.
Engr. Okwuosha, during the visit was accompanied by the Governing Board Chairman of ISOPADEC, Barr. Magnus Obido, and Head of Agric Department in ISOPADEC, Mrs. Chizoba Nuela Okafor.
Others were the ISOPADEC Managing Director’s SA on Students Affairs, Dr. Nwadiaro; Project Development, Arc. Kingsley Anyiwo; Health, Comr. Jeff Uwakwe; Media and Communications, Mr. Collins Ughalaa; and Youth Affairs, Barr. Thaddeus Oloko.
