It has been a rain of prayers and praises for Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, SAN, since Wednesday, October 10, 2019.
On that day, the Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Hon. Justice John Tsoho, commissioned the public conveniences of the Federal High Court, Lagos Division, newly renovated for public use by the famed human rights activist and legal luminary.
Adegboruwa, SAN, had voluntarily taken up the project of renovating the three public toilets in the court, for the use of lawyers and litigants alike. He said this project was executed in fulfillment of the pledge that he made to God when applying for elevation into the Inner Bar.
Specifically, the renovated major toilets are as follows:
Toilet at the Car Park
This is a public convenience comprising two toilets for men, two urinary bowls and hand wash, three toilets for women, hand wash and changing area.
Part of the roof of the building was also renovated and some doors were changed.
Main Toilet Inside the Court
This is a public convenience comprising two toilets, two urinary bowls and hand wash for men and three toilets and hand wash for women. The doors to the toilets were refurbished and fixed.
Special Toilet for Senior Lawyers and Physically Challenged Persons
This toilet was totally overhauled with one toilet, hand wash and urinary bowl for men and one toilet and wash hand for women.
Enough room has been created in this toilet, to allow lawyers freshen up in the outer rooms newly created, because of its proximity to the court.
Toilet of the Security men
The single toilet of the security men at the main gate of the court was also renovated and changed.
Adegboruwa, SAN, had written to the court to seek permission to renovate these toilets as part of his efforts to give back to the judiciary where he operates.
The Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court commissioned the toilets in the company of other judges and the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), chairmen of Nigerian Bar Association, Lagos and Ikeja branches and other dignitaries.
The commissioning of the toilets was performed on behalf of Hon. Justice Tsoho by his representative, C.T. Clement-Ende, Deputy Chief Registrar, Federal High, Lagos, who led a delegation of the Acting Chief Judge, with Mr. Yemi Akangbe, Chairman, NBA Lagos Branch, among other dignitaries.
Since news of the event broke, Adegboruwa, SAN, has been receiving prayers and kudos by enthralled members of the public, most of them not of the legal profession. In messages sent via social media, especially Facebook, an increasing number of people have been congratulating the senior lawyer and praying for God to continue to bless him.
Below are some of the over 50 comments on Adegboruwa’s post on the issue on his Facebook wall:
Oluyomi Timothy: Ademola God bless you Sir. More of this to humanity. That purse where the cash for the project execution was drawn shall not dry in Jesus name.
