Police have arrested two suspects, Emmanuel Aro and Anu Olofinju, for allegedly stealing a human skull at a cemetery in Ogun State.
The suspects, both aged 25, were nabbed along Ijoun Road Eggua in Yewa North Local Government Area of the state.
The state police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrests in a statement, disclosed that the skull was that of a woman.
Oyeyemi added that the suspects admitted that they intended to use the skull for money making rituals.
He stated that the arrest followed a complaint lodged at Eggua Police Station by one Amoo Bankole who reported that the two suspects were sighted at the cemetery where his mother was buried few months ago digging up the grave of his mother.
He said: “Upon his report, the DPO Eggua Division, SP Kehinde Oyekangun, quickly mobilised his men and moved to the scene but met the two men along the road.
“They were promptly accosted, and on searching the bag they carried, the skull of a woman was discovered there in. The complainant identified the skull to be that of his mother.
“On interrogation, the two suspects confessed to the commission of the crime, they admitted that they intended to use the skull for money making rituals.” (New Telegraph)
