Breaking: Nigerian troops flush out Boko, recapture Chibok

The Nigerian military has sent Boko Haram packing from Chibok, barely 48 hours after the terrorists captured the Borno town from which it abducted hundreds of secondary school girls last April.

The town fell to Boko Haram on Thursday afternoon but was recaptured yesterday night.

Defence Headquarters said today in a short statement uploaded on its official website: “The terrorists who attacked Chibok town early yesterday have been effectively flushed out of the area. The subsequent mopping up operation is still ongoing, as troops continue the pursuit of fleeing terrorists and arrest of the wounded.”

“Meanwhile, normalcy has been restored and the town is now secured. Further details will follow later please.”
