Scores of people were reportedly killed in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State on yesterday as Boko Haram insurgents took over the local government.
This is just as the sect members that were dislodged from Mubi by government troops reportedly regrouped in a primary school in Manjakwa village, Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State.
Reports said that the insurgents laid siege to Hong local government in Adamawa after they had been flushed out of Mubi by the joint efforts of Nigerian troops and the local hunters.
Former Minister of Health, Dr Aliyu Idi Hong, told Sunday Tribune in Yola that his country home had come under siege of the terrorist group, which he claimed had set ablaze a police divisional headquarters.
According to him, “Since morning, the insurgents are in Hong, terrorising people to the level of setting ablaze the police station. “
He added that three days back, he had a report from his people that the insurgents had killed three persons in the area, adding, however, that the information at his disposal at present was sketchy, as he could not give details of how many people had been killed as at yesterday.
Boko Haram, it would be recalled, had also taken oer traumatised Chibok town, Borno State, on Thursday evening, seven months after it took away hundreds of female students from the area, over 200 of whom remain in the custody of the vicious sect.
