Mercy Johnson and Prince Odi Okojie
It was exactly eight years this week when star actress, Mercy Johnson signed the dotted lines with Prince Odianosen Okojie. Their traditional marriage was held on August 26, 2011 followed by white wedding held at Christ Embassy, Oregun, Lagos.
The Kogi State indigene was born in Lagos to a former naval officer father Mr Daniel Johnson and mother Mrs Elizabeth Johnson on August 26, 1984. The Nollywood star therefore decided to roll out the drums for double celebration – her birthday and her marriage on Wednesday.
Mercy and Odi did not mince words when they marked their eight years old union with honest assessment and reminiscences.
To the thespian, her husband has caused her pains many times during the marriage, a liaison which kicked off on a highly controversial note.
“How do I tell you about the pains I go through when you are upset with me or when you are not around with me?...you give me solace and you upset me some times…,” said the star actress.
On his own part, the Edo State-born prince who divorced his wife, Lovely – mother of his two children – also had his own tales concerning his actress wife.
“We may have gone through some storms and passed through some turbulence together yet we stayed together, waxing stronger than ever,” Odi said.
In spite of all the ups and downs in the relationship, the two lovebirds agree they love each other and have renewed their vow to remain together forever.
“Oh Lord, it’s eight years, make many more years come to pass. Eternity would be perfect,” Mercy prayed.
Just as Odi showered appreciation on his multiple award winning actress wife with these words,
“Thank you for making me and the kids your topmost priority. Happy 8th wedding anniversary to us.”
