Fire guts Ministry of Works building in Lagos

A late afternoon fire has engulf the Ministry of Works building around the Tafawa Balewa Square area of Lagos.

A Daily Sun report said the fire started at about 5pm and immediately an alert was sent out and the Federal and State Fire services responded promptly.

The report quotes National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) spokesman Ibrahim Farinloye as saying that the cause of fire remains unknown, “explaining that the fire affected parts of the ground floor that housed the Federal Ministry of Works Productivity Centre and Bank of Industry cooperative section.”

Farinloye was further quoted as saying that the fire was put out at about 7pm, adding that no life was lost and no one was injured.
