Stephanie, the drop-dead beauty sacked after four years of marriage to Pastor Chris Okotie, may have abandoned Facebook hours after her posts on her ordeal became a subject of media reports. In the posts, which surfaced in the media late yesterday, Stephanie, writing under her maiden name, Stephanie Adie Henshaw, painted a picture of a woman who dearly loved her husband but was thrown out of her matrimonial home by jealous rivals who fed Okotie lies about her.
But when Transport & Business Express checked this morning to see if she had updated her profile, the names Stephanie Adie Henshaw had disappeared from Facebook. Rather, the message was: “No results found for your query. Check your spelling or try another term.”
In her first posting on her page last Sunday (July 1), Stephanie had said: “Today makes it three weeks I was asked for a separation and a week and four days I packed out. Romans 8:28: ‘All things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them. I am as shocked as most people are, as there has not been an argument in my home. In over a year we have been as happy as everybody thought we were. I wait because I know in time God will make known what has gone wrong.”
In subsequent postings, Stephanie lamented that false accusations by “certain church members” had made former pop star Okotie, Founding Pastor of Household of God Church, Lagos, to send her packing despite the fact that she had known him for 20 years and for “15 years we have been the closest friends.”
According to the heartbroken woman: “I prepared all his meals for 10 years, including the four years we were married. The day I was asked to leave I prepared his meal, served it and I left. For the four years he never fell ill but today I am called all sorts of names -’ ‘witch’, and ‘mermaid spirit.’ I have served Jesus with clean hands and a clean heart. I have loved all that have come my way and if I do not live through this pain and hurt as sure as Jesus lives my children will see my vindication.”
It would be recalled that Okotie’s first marriage to Teena broke up after 17 years. The 1980s pop star is said to be considering remarrying this December.
