No crime is perfect. The more perpetrators of crime attempt to cover up their misdemeanour the more the crime is exposed.

King David paid the price of his immorality with Uriah's wife. The illegitimate knowledge produced a pregnancy, but his attempts to conceal the evil deepened the mess. When all his attempts to lure Uriah to sleep with his wife failed, he plotted the extreme, and drafted him to the most crucial fronts of the war. Uriah was eventually killed, but this couldn't seal the evil. It rather exposed the evil to an incredible dimension. What was perfected in the secret was finally revealed. With Uriah out of the way, David thought he had won the war, but the victory was short-lived.

Perhaps, the randy Benin City pastor and his mistress did not consider the calamity that befell David and his household for committing the atrocity. If so, the lesson could have served as a deterrent to the duo: The resultant effect is a death sentence by hanging.

According to media reports, Pastor Udoka Ukachukwu and his mistress, Eniobong Isonguyo, a mother of three, were sentenced to death for the murder of her husband, Engr Victor Gabriel Isonguyo, a staff of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Benin City, Edo State.

Reports had it that Eniobong, in connivance with her pastor, Udoka Ukachukwu, conspired to commit the act to cover up the pregnancy accusation by the deceased.

The duo in an attempt to cover the inglorious act plotted the bizzare plot. The wife of the deceased told the pastor to wait on the route of her husband to work and ask him for a ride. The plan paid off as the man eventually stopped and gave the pastor a ride, along Sapele Road, Benin.

During the journey, the account, revealed, the pastor brought out a sharp object and hit him (the deceased) on his neck; opened the petrol tank, sipped out fuel and set him ablaze. He reportedly burnt beyond recognition.

It was further established that millions of naira and landed property belonging to the deceased were transferred to the said pastor by the wife. There is no escape from justice. The ignoble journey that started way back in 2013 was rounded with a death sentence by hanging few weeks ago. The child of that ignoble union, which could easily pass as the biblical Ichabod and whose pregnancy was only four months old at the time of the offense, was given birth to later in Benin prison.

Apostle Paul admonished seriously of the escapades of the likes Pastor Ukachukwu when he admonished in 2Timothy 3: “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; having a form of godliness but denying its power.
Have nothing to do with such people. They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

These men who claim form of godliness but denied its power have indeed wormed their way into homes and gained control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins.
They have broken many homes and visited these homes with untold disasters. Many women have fled their marital homes because of the escapades of these men.

The most unfortunate thing of this is that the public have failed to heed the admonition of Paul about these men: to have nothing to do with them.

The list of these randy pastors is inexhaustible. Many of them have been either arrested or arraigned for cases of rapes and sodomy with sometimes under-age girls.

The final warning: Men beware of how your wives patronise these so-called “ministers of God.” The times are, indeed, perilous.
