Ghetto soldier Daddy Showkey
One artiste who has chosen to give back to the society which made him is John Asiemo, the man popularly known as Daddy Showkey.
The ghetto dance exponent and galala singer who lived in Ajegunle area of Lagos has for some years now influenced the vocational training of young men and women in the area from where he emerged to become a music star (Ajegunle).
On Wednesday, May 22, 200 young persons in the Lagos suburb graduated from the free basic sewing course which the Delta born singer, performer and Glo Ambassador had instituted since 2007 in collaboration with the Lagos State Government.
Daddy Showkey was all thanks to the state government during the graduation ceremony.
“It’s such a rare privilege to be aligned to this laudable, free training you have offered my community in Ajegunle. We are glad and we strongly believe that this will engender great change in the lives of our people, with hope for more to come as delivered from your office,” the ghetto soldier told the immediate past governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, at the well-attended occasion.
Overheard someone say, “This is the kind of thing our artistes should be influencing to help their various communities, not frivolous things such as butt and boobs enhancement and the rest.”
