Nigeria’s controversial rapper, Michael Ugochukwu Stephens, popularly known by his stage name Ruggedman, has called on the judiciary to pronounce with dispatch, death sentences on all armed personnel in the police and other services found culpable in extra judicial killings of innocent citizens in the country.

Ruggedy Baba, as he is fondly called by his fans, said this following the recent shooting of two people namely, Ada Ifeanyi and Emmanuel Akomafuwa, in Ajegunle area of Lagos by

trigger happy policemen.

Though the police men have been arrested and detained, Ruggedman said: “We must follow this down to court hearings and sentencings. We demand death sentence on forcemen who kill innocent people.”

It would be recalled that in a press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, DSP Bala Elkana, the Commissioner of Police, had vowed that the perpetrators will be punished.

The PPRO gave the names of the killer policemen as Inspector Adams Usman, Sergeant Adeyeye Adeoye, Sergeant Kashim Tijani, Sergeant Lucky Akigbe and Sergeant Paul Adeoye.

The statement added that Inspector Dania Ojo, who escaped immediately after the shooting, had been declared wanted by the command.
