IGP Mohammed Adamu
Seventeen police officers were on Tuesday decorated with new ranks by the Anambra State Commissioner of Police (CP) Mustapha Dandaura.
This is coming on the heels of the approval by the Police Service Commission for the promotion of Senior Police Officers on the recommendation of Inspector-General of Police, Ag IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu.
Officers promoted from the position of Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP were, ACP Ahmadu B. Garba, ACP Odion M. Ekeinede, ACP Badaru Musa, ACP Ike Nwosu, ACP Henry B. Eze and ACP Adewuyi R. Babalola.
Those Promoted from DSP level to SP include, SP Elem Amin, SP George Okoro, SP Chris Uhunmnangho, SP Ibhadode Eromonsele and SP Ajuji Aminu Musa.
Others include SP Innocent Obi, SP Murtala M. Mudi, SP Murtala Isa Sabado, SP Nwali Solomon, SP Musa Rilwanu and SP Udenigwe Joycelin.
Also decorated were two Assistant Superintendents of Police to Deputy Superintendents of Police and six Inspectors to the Rank of Assistant superintendents of Police respectively.
Addressing the newly promoted officers, the CP implored them to reciprocate the gesture done to them by exhibiting high sense of responsibility, discipline and professionalism in discharging their duties of promoting safety and security in the state.
He urged the newly promoted Assistant superintendents of Police to utilise the opportunity of the promotion to register for the ongoing confirmation of appointment in order not to lose seniority.
Dandaura warned the officers to shun all forms of corruption and incivility to members of the Public, noting that the Command will not hesitate to take disciplinary action against any form of professional misconduct.
Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers, ACP Ahmadu B. Garba, thanked the Police Service Commission and IGP for finding them worthy of the promotion.
He thanked the CP for finding time to decorate them despite his tight schedule promising that they will redouble their efforts towards protecting lives and properties in the federation.
