A five-day free medical programme organised by Mrs. Nkeiru Onyejeocha, the lawmaker representing Umunneochi/Isuikwuato Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives has the rural poor from the two local government areas heaving a sigh of relief, even if a temporary one.

Thousands of people benefitted from programme which started on Monday and ended yesterday.

Hon. Onyejeocha explained that the gesture was in fulfillment of her campaign promises to the people, adding that it was a practical demonstration of her commitment to the wellbeing and welfare of her constituents.

Onyejeocha, who is chairman of the House Committee on Aviation, promised to continue giving her constituents and the state quality representation.

Flagging off the programmme, the State governor, Chief Theodore Orji, announced that his administration would soon embark on renovation and equipping of all General Hospitals in the state to ensure quality healthcare services to the people.

The governor, represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Okechukwu Ogah, said his government constructed and equipped over 250 government health centres established the Specialist hospital and diagnostic centre in Umuahia to ensure provision of quality healthcare services to the people.
