The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that while it is disappointed with INEC’s decision to run supplementary elections in six states, it is confident the party will be victorious when the elections get underway.
This was made know in a statement on Sunday by the Party’s national publicity secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu.
In its statement, the APC said the supplementary elections billed to take place in Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Kano, Plateau and Sokoto are a sure win, the Party also urged INEC to ensure that the elections are free and fair.
The Party also accused the PDP of plots to rig the elections, alleging that the opposition is planning to subvert the will of the electorate.
As regards the election in Rivers, the Party described the electoral umpire’s decision as ‘illegal’.
APC through its spokesman noted that it is worried about the “unholy alliance between Governor Nyesom Wike, PDP and INEC”.
The APC alleged that until INEC took its decision regarding Rivers, the incumbent and candidate of the PDP was trailing in the race.
The Party said it vehemently rejects all anti-democratic moves with regards to the polls in Rivers.
