In the past four years, Airtel Nigeria has provided relief, succour, hope and opportunities to liberate and empower the underprivileged in Nigeria through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative known as Airtel Touching Lives.The brand has called for nomination of beneficiaries for the fifth edition of the initiative. The programme, which is broadcast on national and continental television stations, provides enabling platforms for tens of thousands of underprivileged Nigerians to be liberated from extreme poverty and hardship. Successes have been recorded in the past four seasons of the programme.
Airtel Nigeria’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Olusegun Ogunsanya, said the company was relentless in its vision to empower more underprivileged persons as well as encourage other corporate organisations to support the disadvantaged, stressing that Touching Lives was dear to Airtel, as it believes that doing good is good for business. He pointed out that the initiative has impacted many brands to imbibe the spirit of giving.

While speaking on other activities of the brand, Ogunsanya said: “We build schools for deprived communities as in the case of Mbashie community in Benue State that was provided clean water. We donate money and food to people in need. Promoting a culture of giving is paramount to us as we believe that being rich is not about how much one has but about how many lives one impact.”
