Akwa Ibom’s performing government should not be interrupted, By Joseph Ekong

The current pace of economic progress in Akwa Ibom State can be intercepted by electing rebels. By dint of fact and evaluation one can really say that the Gov Emmanuel Udom-led government has employed prudence in his administration, and also in manning the complex affairs of the state, especially in the politics of inclusion.

Every new regime proposes its programmes within a two-term political framework. And this, of course, only works by a scorecard of the first term. The first part of this government, by all means, has scratched the ground constructively to raise structures that has brought development, characterised by a growing pace of employment, self-reliance and an encouraging personal sustainability.

To further expound on the performance of this government and validate its continuity, there are empirical credentials in various sectors, namely: health, education, agriculture and industrial revolution, among others, with modern facilities. All the sectors have a nexus to command an interchangeable development. And to make sure that these superstructures are functional and accessible, the government provides road networks to ensure that it realises its economic purpose and other social benefits.

Growth precedes and heralds development, according to Jinghan. This is the truth we must accept. And, that is, that this administration has laid a superstructure and a trajectory for economic boom; the output and development by implications.

If we allow this truth to dwell in our hearts, we will choose continuity over illogical replacement. The cost of starting a new government has catastrophic repercussions.

Udom's model of governance is commendable.
