Ondo APC Elders want former dep gov, chairman punished

The Elders Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has directed the State Executive Committee (SEC) to initiate moves to punish erring members of the party including a former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ali Olanusi.

The Elders led by Second Republic Senator, Nimbe Farukani in a communique after the end of its monthly meeting yesterday expressed worry over anti-party activities of the aggrieved members of the party led by Olanusi.

Some stakeholders of the party including Olanusi, former Chairman, Mr Isaacs Kekemeke, Abayomi Adesanya and Segun Ayerin had called for the dissolution of the state executive committee over alleged anti-party activities.

But the Elders lamented the statement credited to Olanusi and his group where they called for the dissolution of the State Executive Council.

Aside Farukanmi, other elders in the caucus included Senator Titus Pitan Otunba Agboola Kelly, Dr. S.K Shaba Dr. Ladi Tenabe, Prince Olu Adegboro, Chief S. Adegbonmire Otunba (Dr.) Kanmi Koledoye, Prof. Ebenezer Akinnawo and Mr Niran Akinsuyi

The elders at the meeting wondered why any committed member of the party would call for the dissolution of a performing State Executive Committee.

The elders expressed confidence in the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Apart from throwing its weight behind the Executive Committee led by Ade Adetimehin; the elders said “what the Olanusi and his group did amounts to gross anti-party activity, and should therefore be appropriately sanctioned.”
