The Nigerian Senate has adjourned plenary session to Tuesday, November 20, 2018.

This came as a result of few lawmakers that were around in the chamber today for the proceedings.

Knowing the session could not hold on the available quorum, lawmaker representing Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Philip Aduda, cited Order 10 and moved that since a majority of Senators are on oversight duty, plenary should be adjourned.

The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, rose and seconded the motion which brought about the adjournment.

Reacting to the development, Senate President, Bukola Saraki, confirmed based on the matter at hand, the plenary be adjourned and equally urged all senators on the oversight function to complete their duties before the end of the week.

He said: “This is in line with order 10.3; if we do not have quorum, we need to adjourn. That being said, all senators currently on oversight function should try to complete all duties before the end of the week.”
