Pretty Karibo, a youth activist and frontline crusader for the active participation of young females in politics, has commended Dame Judith Amaechi, wife of the former governor of Rivers State and current Minister for Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, for her leading role in pushing for the inclusion of youths in politics.

Reacting to a recent News Express story in which Dame Amaechi, Founder of the NGO, Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI), was advocating youth participation in politics, Pretty Karibo said:

“The push for youth inclusiveness by Her Excellency, Mrs Amaechi, is one that is very commendable. She has demonstrated unparalleled commitment in encouraging active participation of young people in leadership and governance.”

She further said: “The key issue of involvement in politics, policy and decision making processes should be given due consideration especially with the female youths.

“They are vibrant with untapped potentials that if harnessed and given the opportunity, will greatly accelerate societal and national development.”

Pretty Karibo emphasised the need for young people to get more involved in governance, while appealing to other well-meaning individuals to join the call for youthful inclusion in politics and decision making.
