Shiite protesters
Members of Islamic Movement of Nigeria(IMN) from South West has called onthe people from the South West of the country to vote out President Muhammadu Buhari at the 2019 general elections because of his dictatorial tendency toward the rule of law.
Addressing journalists on Wednesday in Abujaduring a protest at the Presidential Villa gate, the South-West Coordinator of the group, Muftau Zakariya, said that the President has no moral justification to remain in the office beyond 2019 and he should be voted out.
The group has staged series of protest to demand the release of its spiritual leader, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky who is in custody of Department of State Service (DSS).
“We came to protest today in Abuja to seek for the release of our leader and convince government to obey court order.
“The court has ordered that El-Zakzaky’s should be released and should be paid N50million as damage to him and his wife because of the illegal detention he has been subjected to. But today the government has refused to obey that order.
“I am especially using this opportunity to talk to my fellow Yoruba men. No Yoruba man that is freely born should vote for Buhari. Buhari has killed his own people. Somebody that kills northerners, Hausas and elites who shot a Muslims scholar, who jail him and refused to give him bail.
“Let me tell you the equivalent of what Buhari has done, is like somebody catching Pastor Adebode at redeem shooting him and jailing him. Can anybody expect that there is nobody in Yoruba land he cannot jail, of course he can jail anybody?”
Zakari noted that If President Buhari can commit such atrocity of killing and bury his own fellow Muslim in the shallow grave then there is there is nobody he cannot kill.
“If a President can go to the Nigerian Bar Association and told them that he will not obey the rule of law where security is concern, it shows you how shallow minded this man is. This is the man that sworn an oath on Quran because he is a Muslim to obey the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“For him to say that it is equivalent to a Mallam who saying that it is not compulsory for people to obey the Quran. It shows that he is not a democrat. He still believes that is a military dictator and that Nigerians that is ruling over are mere animals that he can do whatever he likes to us.
“That is why I am using this avenue to appeal to Nigerians, anybody that vote for Buhari is voting for somebody that does not believe in the rule of law. Anybody that vote for Buhari is voting for somebody that believes that killings should continue in Benue, Zamfara and other part of the country.
“Do you think when Yoruba people die or any other person dies in Nigeria he cares? This man does not care. That is why we should just give him red card let just go back to Daura and start farming,” Zakari noted.
The protesters were prevented from gaining entry into the Presidential Villa by stern looking policemen.
